Kevin Hackenfort first became aware of Terry McInturff guitars sometime in 1997. Not having any dealers close by, he looked for a used TCM on-line, and ended up buying a Glory Standard. Having participated in other on-line guitar forums, Kevin decided there should also be a place to discuss TCM guitars, and he began developing the TCM Forum, which made its official debut on December 14, 1999.

Things snowballed, and Kevin was fortunate enough to enlist the help of Dave Tang and then Jake Kurdsjuk as moderators. Jake ultimately took on the bulk of the responsibilities, and later Mike Oryszak also signed up for his share. In March of 2007, Jake and Mike passed the duties on to Chris Hall, a long time member, and Chris Strong.
